Call for contributions

IFL '98 is intended to provide an open forum for researchers who wish to present and discuss new ideas and concepts, work in progress, preliminary results etc. related to the implementation of functional or function-based languages.

Topics of interest include (but are not restricted to):

and also applications of functional programming.

Contributions and Publication Details

All attendees are encouraged to submit papers to be published in the draft proceedings and to give presentations at the workshop (in extremis it may be necessary to limit the number of presentations, though we hope this won't be required). We hope to follow the lead of IFL '97 in publishing a selected subset of high-quality contributions in the Springer LNCS series. Papers published in this way will be refereed to normal conference standards.

For details of how to submit, see the submissions page.

Accommodation and Fees

The workshop will be held in the Department of Computer Science at University College London. We have booked rooms for attendees in nearby student Halls of Residence. However, you may prefer to arrange your own (more luxurious?) accommodation in one of the many nearby hotels.

UCL is situated in the heart of London, just minutes away from most of London's nightlife: pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, clubs and concert halls. There's only one word of warning - don't try to drive into London! For how to get here, read these directions.

The workshop fee will be 165 UK pounds sterling, including registration, refreshments and lunch Wednesday-Friday, the social event, the draft proceedings and the LNCS proceedings. In addition to this workshop fee you will need to arrange accommodation (see above); there are also a number of additions and discounts that are available to help tailor registration to individual circumstances.
