DR. DANIEL J HULME

Impact

I am one of the founding members of the Computer Science Impact Team, which consists of academic and industrial leaders to help pioneer the department of Computer Science and Faculty of Engineering IMPACT initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • co-develop and execute the departmental impact strategy
  • liaise with and assist managing small to large corporate relationships
  • sit on the internal and external advisory board and steering committees
  • JDI DataLab Delegate - secure BigData facility to handle sensitive data research
  • building cross-collaboration and interdisciplinary links between the faculties departments
  • develop undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses and modules to promote innovation and impact across the faculty
  • produce impact case-studies to showcase to various communities
  • manage the impact website and web-portal
  • provide support to academics to develop better impact cases and access funding
  • support the industry liaison officer; cultivating links with SME's, large organisations and alumni
  • source funding for all impact initiatives
  • work with UCL Enterprise, UCL Advances, UCL Business and UCL Consultants to cultivate a more dynamic innovation ecosystems
  • co-develop UCLs Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP)
  • develop legal agreement and facilitate Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, IP assignments, Internships, Collaboration Agreements, Spain-outs and Secondments
  • organise and support innovation days, workshops, meetups and hackdays
  • provide support and advice to UCL start-ups and entrepreneurs
  • course designer and/or lecture on New Venture Analytics, Software Engineering, Professional Issues, Data Analytics and course co-designer of Technology Innovation
