Task

Description –

REPEAT

	Move to virtual square on the floor of the IPT.
	When subject is standing on the virtual square (indicated to the computer by the subjects tracked head position and to the subject by highlighting of virtual square in red) a number of cubes will appear. The number and orientation of the cubes depends on the particular Scenario being run (see Scenario types below)
	The subject must then select the yellow cube using one of three interaction metaphors. (each subject completes the scenarios using only one of the interaction metaphors).
	On selection the cubes disappear and the virtual square moves to another place on the floor of the IPT. The above process is then repeated.

Number of repetitions to complete task -

20 selections

Scenario Types -

Each subject performs 6 trials using a single Interaction Metaphor. The trials all operate as above. The differences are in the number and orientation of objects.

Scenario 1:- Single Medium sized yellow cube.

Scenario 2:- Single Small sized yellow cube.

Scenario 3:- Pair of Medium sized cubes.

Scenario 4:- Pair of Small sized cubes.

Scenario 5:- Cluster of Medium sized cubes.

Scenario 6:- Cluster of Small sized cubes.

Environment

Simple rectangular kitchen. Environment size is 8m x 10m by 3m high. Lit by 5 Point light sources, placed on ceiling at corners and in center.
