| | The set of documents on this page represent the full
documentation produced by the FORM project on the ODF, the application models
developed in trialling the ODF and the evaluations performed.
You are invited to provide your feedback on these
document.
These documents are the final four deliverables
produced by the project.
The FORM project has specified an open development framework for the
development of such service applications. The framework focuses on how to
mediate between existing open frameworks, rather than being highly
prescriptive and thus avoids becoming just another framework competing for the
attention of industry stakeholders. The objective of this deliverable is to
provide the reader with a detailed specification of the FORM development
framework. The final Open Development Framework (ODF) presented here is
targeted at service applications designers and developers in an open service
market. It supports the concept of software component reuse (based on the
concept of building blocks) and focuses on supporting the design and
development of such reusable software components.

This document describes the FORM Methodology for development of Building
Blocks and Management Systems using the Open Development Framework. The
Methodology comprises two Guidelines - namely the Building Block Development
Guideline and the Business Process Driven System Development Guideline, which
target different kinds of development and hence can be used by different types
of developer. The Building Block Development Guideline describes how Building
Blocks for network, service and system management can be developed for the
FORM Framework. This guideline is intended for use by Management Component
Developers/Vendors and, where new functionality is required, Management System
Integrators. The Business Process Driven System Development Guideline provides
guidance for the construction of management solutions that implement
management business processes using FORM Building Blocks Contracts. This
guideline is intended for use by Management System Integrators and Manager
Service Providers

This deliverable presents the final FORM inter-enterprise management system
model. It presents the models, which are the final results from the design and
development of sets of management services (contracts) and components
(building blocks) based on the concepts from the ODF especially system
development methodology and logical architecture. The material presented in
this deliverable should be seen as a view of the final system prototype,
covering specification and development of models according to FORM
methodology. All models are specified in a technology independent manner,
primarily using UML.
The deliverable has a main part and 5 annexes as follows:
Annex A: Models for IES Fulfilment system
Annex B: Models for VPN Fulfilment System
Annex C; Models for Assurance System
Annex D; Models for Billing System
Annex E: Explanation of structure of the Contract

This deliverable presents the setup of Trial 2. Trial 2 represents the
second and last evaluation phase of the FORM project. Trial 2 assessed the
overall results of the project including all the components of the
Inter-Enterprise Management Framework. The documentation of the final project
trial (Trial 2) provides information on the trial infrastructure, trial test
cases and evaluation based on the operational requirements and the development
aspects. The structure of Trial 2 is presented; the four test teams within the
project demonstrated their management systems. These demonstrations were then
assessed against the operational requirements for the Inter-Enterprise
service, which were drawn up at the beginning of the project. The development
aspects of an Open Development Framework in which management systems for an
IES can be developed commercially were also evaluated.
The deliverable has a main part and two annexes as follows:
Annex A: Provides the requirements against which the evaluation of
operational aspects was conducted and documents the test cases followed in the
different portions of the Trial. An online-
searchable version is also available.
Annex B: Documents the questionnaires used to evaluate the development
aspects of the Trial.
