Introduction

Homework n° 2 of Multimedia Systems: "Web sites critical analysis".

The evaluation took place during the months of October-November 2000.

The evaluation included a round of main parameters shown during one lecture of Multimedia Systems. Briefly, for each site I checked its: scope, content, graphics, purpose, workability and cost.

I evaluated many sites of european univerities (in particular, universities of technology). Then, I chose five sites.

It's easy to look at the university sites and say "Yes, that one is good" and "Yes, that's bad". What is diffult was avoiding my own tendency to fall into the trap of "great site, seeing just a catcher homepage". So I decided to follow these evaluation parameters:
1) Are the pages designed to load as quickly as possible?
2) Is user able to access the needed information efficiently? In other words, is the site easy to navigate?
3) Is the use of text and images appropriate?

Next, I started navigating through the web by taking a look at the home page of these universities.
