contact. As you can guess, the major topics are covered.
The english version should be expanded: useful information is supplied in Norwegian language.
Overall, the information refers to past, present and future projects.

Content
|
Most of the pages are well-written (with a simple english) and have an update reference (full date).
Some links, especially in the web pages of the different departements, are dandling (they lead to "file not found" error).
A very detailed list (name, email address, telephone number) of the university authorities is easily reachable.
All the information is not only available in html format, but most of the important documents are supplied in PDF format. Moreover, there is a special section "Order brochures": name and postal code must fill in by the user to get brochures on different items (study, bussiness an pleasure, campus guide, innovation in Norway).
Finally, this site provides an official translation (english <--> norwegian) of terminology in the university/college sector.

Instead of using a list of links in the usual boring manner, the designers came up with clever side bar menu to present them.
Thanks to an usable menu, it is easy to find different kinds of information and to dedicate the entire top-page to important news and events.
The given information is effective because of the used graphics: simple text, with proper font sizes and colors, 'reigns' in all pages. The used visual effects help user in the navigation.
In addition most of the pages are very light to download.
Certainly, the main goal of NTU is to transmitt a young-looking image (see the photo where rector and prorector are in a posture typical of topmodels).

Purpose
|
The intended user could be a student, a foreign student, a researcher and a general worker (infact, there is a special section dedicated to the university staff).
The part of the site "Join us inside" is very appreciable: it shows, with a proper organization, a well-done presentation about faculties, general organization, objectieves of NTU.

Workability
|
The menu, shown in the top-page, enhances the site organization and the readability of the information.
All the resources are fast accessible (no heavy images are used) with standard equipments.
Good interactivity can be evaluated taking a look at "Phone directory", "Address List" & "Order brochures" sections.
Now I report the results of my personal usability test obtained during the evaluation of this website.
