I joined the University of Rennes in 2023 as a tenured lecturer in the ISTIC faculty, where I teach Software Engineering and Operational Research courses. I am also a member of the IRISA research centre within the joint Inria/IRISA DiverSE group.
My research focuses on genetic improvement, building on previous work at University College London on software specialisation and a doctorate from the University of Lille on automated algorithm design for multi-objective combinatorial optimisation. More broadly, I am interested in evolving and optimising software using techniques from automated machine learning, algorithm configuration, and evolutionary computation. To this end, I develop and maintain Magpie, an automated software improvement framework.
My name is typically pronounced [ɛm.(ə.)ʁik] [blo] in French. For English speakers, "Aymeric" sounds like the beginning of "emerald" followed by the name "Rick," whilst "Blot" rhymes with "go," with a silent "t." 日本語では「エムリック・ブロ」と発音されます。
