From March to December 2005: Internship at the Physics Department, University of Algarve (Portugal), under the supervision of Dr. Rui Guerra. Project: Construction of a low-cost photon-migration instrument based on homodyne and heterodyne detection, for near infrared spectroscopy.

From September 1999 to December 2004: Lincenciatura in Physics Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal). Final thesis at Risø Laboratory (Denmark) in "Optical Coherence Tomography for applications in dermatology", under the supervision of Dr. Andreas Tycho and Dr. Peter Andersen.
