Mailing Lists
- Class mailing list:
Announcements about the class (readings, courseworks, lecture times) will be sent to the above mailing list. The list can also be used by students to discuss material from the class, and ask questions to clarify the problems on courseworks. As this is a public list, seen by all students, it should not be used by students to discuss any aspect of the solution to a coursework.By departmental policy, students must ensure they subscribe to the mailing list for each course they take, are expected to read email daily, and are presumed to read all announcements sent to the course list by the instructors. The instructors do not manage membership in the class mailing lists--please do not ask them to add you to a list. Students can join lists by using the mlist command on a UCL CS UNIX host; follow these instructions.
Note that UCL CS's mail servers will only let you register a UCL email address when you join the list. Similarly, UCL CS's mail servers will only accept mail for this list sent from a computer within UCL CS's network--you can't send email to the class list from elsewhere. Please keep that in mind when trying to use the list!
Mail to the class list is archived; you can read the archive on a UCL CS UNIX host using the bbc command.

If you have a question about the class or coursework that you would like to ask privately (e.g., if it describes details of your solutions to a coursework, or for other reasons), please send mail to this list, which will reach both instructors and the teaching assistant. This way, you are more likely to receive a prompt response from one of the teaching staff.
