PRESENCCIA...

This Integrated Project will undertake a Research Programme that has as its major goal the delivery of presence in wide area distributed mixed reality environments.

The environment will include a physical installation that people can visit both physically and virtually. The installation will be the embodiment of an artificial intelligent entity that understands and learns from its interaction with people. People who inhabit the installation will at any one time be physically there, virtually there but remote, or entirely virtual beings with their own goals and capabilities for interacting with one another and with embodiments of real people.

Important information for Speakers and Participants...

Speakers

The speakers should send by e-mail some PDFs of papers that they consider relevant on relation to their talks to sanchez.vives@gmail.com . Those will be made available to the participants to be read in advance to their attendance to the course.

Applicants must submit

1. A short CV including: academic position, level of knowledge of English, year of degree, graduate courses, masters, fellowships and contracts.
2. For those doing a PhD, a report from the Thesis Supervisor.
3. Photocopy of their identity card or passport.
4. Contact details including web page if possible.

Fellowships for accomodation

There are a limited number of fellowships for accomodation, that will be given according to the applicant’s CV and / or economical situation. The fellowships do not include registration (XX euros). There are also a number of travelling fellowships, to be given to some of the applicants that do not obtain the accomodation fellowship.

Participants Presentations

Those participants that work on matters related to the course contents and would like to have a short –15 min- oral presentation should submit an abstract (< 300 words) along with their application.

Participants Presentation Prize

The best Participant presentation will be selected and the winner will be given a special prize by the Fundación Duques de Soria.
