Schedule for new MSc CSML Students

Please Note: On the first day of induction, you should come to the Department of Computer Science which is in the Malet Place Engineering Building (MPEB). Room 6.12 is on the 6th Floor of the MPEB. Click here for directions to the Department of Computer Science.

After initial registration on the Monday morning, the majority of lectures will be held in the Statistics Department, 1-19 Torrington Place. Click here for directions to the Department of Statistics.

The foundation course will consist of sessions as indicated below.  These sessions will be based mainly on the books Mathematical Statistics and Data Analysis by J A Rice and Introduction to Probability Models by S M Ross. Students should all have a copy of the former.  Most sessions will consist of an informal introductory revision lecture, individual exercises and/or group discussion of examples.

Morning sessions are from 10AM - 1PM with a break at about 11-11.30AM.  Afternoon sessions will generally be from 2.30PM - 5PM with a break at 3.30 - 4PM. Sessions will be in the Galton LT (Room 115) unless otherwise arranged. We will arrange to have refreshments available in room 146 of the Statistics Department in the first week.
