Mis match between Biologist and Computer Experts

Data mining is increasingly important in Biology and Medicine.
The 1000 genomes project has published DNA sequences from many people.
1000G data in on the Internet so that it can be more widely used.
Computer Scientists often use free public data.  Although Biologists
understand the problem of contamination in microbiology labs the
corresponding problem of computer database corruption has received
less attention. Once data are in the machine, they may be taken at
face value and caveats ignorned.

Caveat emptor, even if the data are free!
