Experience: Canadian Forces - Pilot. 20 years at CAE in R&D projects including the Fibre-Optic HMD (USAF, US Army), manual controls for tele-manipulation and flight control, Enhanced/Synthetic Vision Systems. Basic research areas: Human Sensation and Perception, Motion Sickness, Cognitive Performance and Modelling, Learning.

 

Professional Activities: Member:  Canadian Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Committee on Scholarships and Fellowships; Conference Board of Canada Innovation Council; NATO SAS 034 Working Group on the use of distributed simulation for  training; NATO  MSG 001 Working Group - distributed simulation  for  Modelling and Simulation; SAE G-10 Committee on Aviation Human Factors Standards.

-         advanced visual displays and image generation systems

-         information processing in C4I systems

-         human performance measurement and modelling

       in networked synthetic environments
