No sign from OBU 1/ minutes/actions/agenda bashing previous minutes are at http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/jon/mmn/minutes-5.11.97.txt Actions: 1/ Morris and other s outlines opportunites for papers at IM99 (deadline mid jully, conf in Mar 99) Funding - from JISC, Other conferences soon: NOSSDAV, HIPPARCH $$$: JISC for $$$ 2/ all - to work on integration/demo plan: 2/i) Rob Davieson sent a spec for the low level half and David and others responded 2/ii) The high level plan awaits a meeting between UCL, IC and Lancs (Ian M., James, Nat and Dan). 2/ LEARNET Progress Cambridge have fiber connectivity , but not photons, cells or packes yet London have logical connecvity but a submcron gap which takes 2 months to schedule a fuse for in BT Tower... 3/ work progress reports from each partner UCL - James reported on client stack management rmi,corba,etc IC - Nat presented work from their paper on component architecture) componenet=object=thing? Cambridge - Brian presented more DCAN results switchlets, but resources? OBU - declared UDI (allegiance with HICID?) Lancaster - Dan presented Lancs Windows environs work could be mega useful - DIrect/Active etc... Loughborough - Iain reported on latest progress on measurements Useful... 4/ Patent Progress fine 5/ Integration Plan lots of discussion - basicaly, though needs a heads banging together meeting of 2 levels Cam, Lboro, OBU, and IC, UCL, Lancs). watch this space... 6/ T&D next meet Tue, 14 july, 10:30 am Imperial 7/ AOB note LEARNET meeting at UCL on 25/3/98 - might be relevant to folks plans. jon to merge mmn and mmn-tech lists - actually soln is => just use mmn list...:-)
