The Security group of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the National Research Council of Italy (IIT-CNR) has 5 new positions for research assistants(PhD student level)/associates(Postdoc level). Currently, the Security Group of IIT-CNR consists of about 15 people (including researchers, post docs, Ph.D. Students and software engineers) plus several master students of the University of Pisa. Pisa is a small historical town that with its biggest airport in Tuscany could be considered as the main entrance in this fascinating region of the world. With its three universities and the CNR biggest research Area in Italy, Pisa is one of the best places in Italy to study and perform research in computer science. All the positions are initially available for one year and can be possibly extended till 3 years. The gross salary will depend on experience and qualification, roughly ranging from 17kE(Research assistant) to 40kE (Research associate). The positions are available starting from February 2008. The successful candidates are expected to perform research activities in the ambit of one or more of the research projects currently available. (For the research associates, the supervision of Ph.D. students is also foreseen.) The Security group is currently involved in the following EU/national projects: EU-ICT-STREP Context-aware Information Sharing (Consequence). EU-IST-STREP Security and Trust for GRID systems (GRIDTrust). EU-IST-STREP Secure Software and Services for Mobile Systems (S3MS). EU-FET-IP BIOlogically-inspired autonomic NETworks and services(BioNets). EU-FET-IP on Software Engineering for Service-Oriented Overlay Computers (SENSORIA). CNR Secure and Resilient Networks and Services (SiReNS). Qualification: - university diploma (or Master's degree) in computer science or related discipline for research assistant. - Ph.D. for research associate. Required: - experience in at least one of the following research topics: formal methods (including logic, process calculi, etc...); applied computer security; network and pervasive security. - fluent English language skills Applications should at least consist of a CV, letters of recommendation and the most significant published papers, if any.
