I am now Dr. Sarah Gallacher, after successfully defending my thesis in September 2011 and graduating in November 2011.
I am now a work package leader in the SOCIETIES project, leading the User Experience work package that includes concepts such as Intelligent Community Orchestration, Context Management, Personalisation, Privacy & Trust and User Agents. In addition I continue to hold the position of Task Leader.
I took part in the Converge Challenge in August 2010. The Converge Challenge aims to help researchers turn their ideas into commercial products. The course was very helpful and I met many interesting people with great ideas.
In 2009, my colleagues and I organised the AISB 09 Convention at Heriot-Watt University. As part of the convention we also organised a symposium on Intelligent Pervasive Environments.
I was a finalist in the 2008 Perspectives poster competition. I presented my poster on pervasive computing at the BA Festival of Science in Liverpool. I also got the chance to present and discuss my work with the general public - a new and enlightening experience for me!
