MSc VIVE Projects

Although it is weighted as one-third of your total MSc mark, your project is in many ways the most important part of your MSc. This is because it represents the extent to which you have understood the basic taught material, and gives you a chance to put theory into practice. It is also usually very enjoyable, and hopefully illuminates many of the obscure theoretical ideas you have heard about up to now. However you need to take your project seriously, to choose a topic carefully and to plan your work well.

Please read the following material carefully at each stage of your progress through your project. When writing up, make sure to keep to the report format requirements. When the time for handing-in gets near, check again the details of the arrangements the department is making, even if you have looked at these pages before, as there may be have been last-minute changes.

  1. Finding a project and supervisor

  2. Project registration

  3. Planning your work
