Uniform Resource Locators (URL’s)

protocol hostname filename

• These are how Mosaic finds the document you ask for.

• An example:

http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/misc/uk/intro.html

• 3 parts, protocol, host, and filename

http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/misc/uk/intro.html

• if you know the URL, you can go straight to a document (see “open URL” on Mosaic)
