• Use EWMA (linear recursive filter):

• NewEstimate = alpha*PreviousEstimate +(1-alpha)*measurement

• Refine 1: increase faster than decrease

• Refine 2: Estimate over all talkspurt

• Refine 4: bandpass filter to eliminate spikes
