The UCL Computer Science Research Student Conference returns this year, giving a chance for research students in the department to share their ideas with each other across disciplinary lines.

This is a good opportunity to learn about what your colleagues in other areas of the department are up to, as well as listening to inspiring approaches to problems: you never know when an approach to a seemingly unrelated problem can provide a relevant contribution to your own research! Additionally, this is an ideal chance to practice your presentation skills in front of an academic audience.

Calls

There are three ways to participate:

  • Long talks (25 minutes plus 5 minutes Q&A)
  • Short talks (10 minutes plus 5 minutes Q&A)
  • Posters
  • The conference will be attended by students of all areas of Computer Science, so it is advisable to target your presentations to a general Computer Science audience.

The conference does not count as an official publication venue, so there is no restriction on the novelty of work presented. That is, you are welcome to present a version of a paper or poster that that has recently been submitted to a conference.

Please contact either of the Conference oragnisers if you wish to participate.

  • Antonio García Castañeda (s.garcia@cs.ucl.ac.uk)
  • Gwyneth Bradbury (g.bradbury@cs.ucl.ac.uk)
  • N.B.: Participation in this conference qualifies for Roberts Points
