Activity Report
I visited the Distributed Systems Group of the Information Systems Institute of the Technical University of Vienna on November 27 and 28. I met with Prof. Jazayeri to discuss the possible cooperation between our research groups in the area of distributed, network-wide applications. The two groups have complementary strengths, and this might be useful in view of applying for joint future funding. In Milano, there is on-going work on mobile computing; i.e., computing where both software and human agents can move and become temporarily disconnected from the network. In Vienna, on-going work is focusing on "push" technologies. We explored various ways in which the two approaches might be integrated.
