Report on RESG meeting: Managing Changing requirements, 31st August, 1999-09-03

 

"Managing Changing Requirements" was organised by the Requirements Engineering Special Interest Group of the British Computer Society. Ian Alexander (Independent Consultant) chaired the meeting

 

Four papers were read:

 

  1. Jane Searles (ICL, UK) - "Understanding IT requirements in a changing world - The role of Enterprise Architecture". Principal theme: providing a stable framework for enterprise architectures by describing them as a network of interacting behaviours.
  2. Dr. Jun Han - (Monash University, Australia - visiting University College London) "Managing Air Traffic Control system requirements and their change" Principal theme: Information Structures for a complex system
  3. Jill Burnett, (QSS UK) - Managing large numbers of changes to requirements from multiple sources, especially estimating the costs of change.
  4. Prof. Spencer Rugaber (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA) - "Coping with mission-oriented requirements changes". Principal theme: evolving legacy software
