ACTIVITY REPORT

I am only 7 months into my Phd, and going to the RE99 Doctoral Symposium was rewarding in a sense of answering some very important questions regarding the nature of my research and the way to go on about it. I presented a research plan together with some central questions and assumptions and possible outcomes of it. The panel of experts provided an excellent advice not only on the research subject matter (team-formation and negotiation), but also useful pointers in terms of research projects in general and how to get organized to make the work more effective.

Also it was very good to meet some of these people informally and carry on the disscussions outside the allocated time for the Doctoral Symposium presentations. I hope that by doing that i can form close working relationships with some of the scientists i have met. I also hope that i will have more opportunities to attend such conferences.
