Saka, J. Orellana, P. Clarke, A. Di Donato, I. Bridge, M. Rio Via Video-conf: M. Allenby, R. Tasker. Actions from 4th Collaboration meeting. ======================================= 4.4 & 4.5 Each site: Contact I. Bridge about the equipment they require. Progressing. Ian has circulated a document to those involved. The kit list has been checked by Harvey Lang. Waiting for responses from site managers (C. Seelig and Anthony Ryan). Done. The equipment should arrive by Tuesday 17 Dec 2002. 4.6 UKERNA & P. Clarke: Make contact on making sure RAL link is lit on 1st March. UKERNA will write to P. Clarke advising how to progress. Ongoing. UKERNA have written to P. Clarke who has to generate a letter. 4.9 S. Bhatti & UKERNA: Arrange to meet with J. Couzens and Experiment 8 people to discuss policies, classification and policing for QoS by 15th Nov 02. Progress: S. Bhatti visited UKERNA on the 21st November. 4.11 M. Rio. Document finding on Cisco bugs/experiences. Ongoing. CEF issue TAC with Cisco has been closed due to slow slow progress and since we will not be using the 7200 in the development network. Gantt Chart: ============ Task 3: Traffic generation and measurement (equipment provision) -------- ACTION: R. Hughes-Jones to arrange meetings to discuss options and what we loose if we do not have GPS. No progress. Task 5: Classification/policies/policing for QoS -------- See Action 4.9 above. ACTION: M. Allenby will talk to S. Bhatti about setting up a workshop on task 5. ACTION: M. Allenby will distribute slides J. Couzens' presentation on DSCP on regional networks. Task 6: Lab based network equipment configuration -------- Tests between UCL and INFN have finished and are being written up. At RAL and Manchester, the 7200s have been put into racks. At UCL, rack space needs to be sorted out. ACTION: Speak to B. Cranfield on this issue. Task 7: e2e Network equipment configuration -------- Ongoing. M. Allenby will talk to Robin Tasker and D. Rogerson about distribution of the IP addresses to the MB-NG sites. ACTION: R. Tasker should make a suggestion on the addressing scheme to be adopted by the project. Task 8: QoS Experimental measurements -------- Measurements on server machines are being analysed. Test on the GSR in stanalone mode are ongoing. ACTION: A schedule of tests should be drawn up. Spirent would like us to test their QoS conformance test suite. We should look at it, but we should not spend too much time on it. Task 9: Managed bandwidth service -------- On hold until network is in place. Task 10: Plan extension of demonstrations to sites in Europe and US -------- On hold until network is in place. Task 11: The deployment and integration of the Middleware and APIs (GARA) -------- ACTION: Javier will arrange a meeting with V. Sander (GARA) in February in London. Also with Leon Gooman and S. Bhatti. Task 12: High throughput programme -------- No progress. ACTION: P. Clerke will ask off-line. Equipment ========= ACTION: P. Clarke to get in writing from M. Mckeown, free upgrade to Version 2. This issue will be put on the agenda of the 9th December meeting. Done. P. Clarke has received an e-mail stating that.. ACTION: I. Bridge will go to slough to do simple acceptance test before the equipment ships. Done. ACTION: M. Allenby RAL to send ship details to I. Bridge. Done. Status of testbeb ----------------- Delivery of the 7600 OC48 line cards is delayed due to manufacturing problems. Delivery of the 7600 Gigabit Ethernet line card has slipped to Q1 next year. The 7600s have been delivered. A ping has been performed through the development network between UCL and Manchester. The UCL group have tried to get QoS working on the 7600s at CERN and on the MB-NG equipment without sucess. ACTION: A TAC case will be raised via CERN. -- Department of Physics & Astronomy, University College London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT Tel:+44 20 7679 3775
