Seelig Manchester:- R. Hughes-Jones S. Dallason. Equipment: Cisco: There are some problems with the Cisco order. The Cisco Vice President of Europe is interested, but wants the project case to made again before signing off the Order. P. Clarke is in the process of sorting out these problems. Spirent: We have a meeting with the Advanced Test program on the 18th September 2002. IMPORTANT: Spirent should be listed as collaborators in all future MB-NG talks. Acterna: The 2.5 Gbit/s POS analyser. The "right to use" agreement has been signed by P. Clarke. Access to Play-pen lab: N. Simpson brought up the point that access to the playpen Lab has not been possible at times. P. Clarke suggested talking to Bob Cranfield. Gantt Chart: ACTION: Frank. For the next meeting, the Gantt chart should be projected for all to see. P. Clarke suggested that by the ***end of the year***, we want to have acheived ***end-to-end connectivity*** in coordination with the NOSC. Also we should start thinking about what we can do with the GSR line cards. Task 2: Traffic generation and measurements ------- ACTION: R. Hughes-Jones to set up a task 2 meeting. Task 3: Traffic generation and measurement (equipment provision) ------- See above Spiret and Acterna remarks. Task 4: Security policy ------- Not Critical. Task 5: Classification/policies/policing for QoS ------- ACTION: Talk to Saleem about progress on task 5. Task 6: Lab based equipment configuration -------- Progressing. We have the equipment on a 90 day loan which runs out this month. ACTION: Mike Allenby will talk to Cisco about an extention. Task 7: Network equipment configuration ------- No progress. Task 8: QoS experimental measurements ------- ACTION: For the leaders of task 8, a schedule of the experiments should be drawn up. This schedule should then be fed to Task 2 leaders so that the priority issues can be tackled first. UCL will focus on the QoS studies and Manchester will focus on the throughput studies. Task 9: Managed bandwidth service ------- So far no one has taken resposibility for this. It is felt that UKERNA should responsibility for the task since they will deploy it in the end. ACTION: R. Samani will tell Ducan and Jeremy to discuss this Task 10: Extension of demo to Europe and US -------- No progress Task 11: Middleware -------- ACTION: UCL. A talk on GARA will be given after the 6th October. Task 12: High throughput program. -------- ACTION: Steven will lok at this. AOB: --- No progress on R. Huhges-Jones' GPS work on Linux.
