Atanu outlined the DPS system (see web page below for paper), and Mike Fry talked about plans in Alpine for further work. Lionel discussed the EE work in the area, touching on routing and network management. He also bought up the existence of the LEARNET reasource (see http://www.ee.ucl.ac.uk/~wjarret/learnet/learnet_main.html for more details - there's also the US=UK CAIRN infrastructure...) Wayne added a bit on his work. Ibrahim outlined his work on RLC (reliable multicast) in DPS. Ian Brown mentioned his work on watermarking and active nets. Peter Rounce was there as an interested observer. Ian Wakeman gave an overview of the Sussex Safetynet language based AN work. Cecelia talkaed about their work on incremental mobile code using XML. Wolfgang added some more details in that area. Herman gave an outline of the work he did while at Columbia including some useful poitners to papers on frameworks and on particular applications of AN ideas to some problem spaces. Antonio described his PhD work on mobile network management agents. Graham added more thoughts on that. Saleem talked about QoS adaption and self-organisation of clusters of systems. End of meeting - we wrapped u psaying there;s 2 network infrastructures and 3 (DPS, XML based and Safetynet) AN infrastructures we already have in the group, as well as others out there we will be using later next year. We will try to organise a full day workshop sometime in mid 2nd quarter next year to follow this up. ----------------------------------------------------------- additional pointers to papers, home pages, projects welcome!!!!!!! -----------------------------------------------------------
