ABSTRACT
ANALYSIS of MICROARRAY GENE EXPRESSION DATA
Prof. Mahesan Niranjan,
Dept. of Computer Science,
University of Sheffield
Gene expression microarrays offer a powerful experimental facility for
simultaneous observation of the levels of activation of thousands of genes
in a single experiment. Clustering and classification analyses have been
performed on such expression data by means of various statistical pattern
processing techniques. The seminar will review a number of modern machine
learning algorithms including feature reduction, support vector machines and
classifier fusion for extracting useful information from gene expression
data.
