Elisa RondiniUCL-CS PhD student Elisa Rondini has won a prestigious Anita Borg Scholarship. As one of the selected scholars she will receive €5,000 to support her studies.

The scholarships are sponsored by Google in memory of Dr Anita Borg who "devoted her adult life to revolutionizing the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields". The awards are made to female undergraduate and graduate students based on the "strength of each candidate’s academic background and demonstrated leadership".

Elisa Rondini began her PhD at UCL in 2006 and is working within the Divergent Grid project supervised by Professor Stephen Hailes. Her research has been funded by the EPSRC and the UCL Graduate School. Prior to taking up her scholarship she will attend the Anita Borg Retreat which will be held in Zurich in June this year.
